Who operates the service

DOT9T Player and mydot9t.com are operated by DOT9T Solutions. This policy covers the Android app and website. The app is free and does not include or sell media content.

Information the app processes

When the app connects to DOT9T servers, we receive the IP address, device model, Android version, app version and request time. If you create a DOT9T account, we receive the name and email address you provide. Your playlists and external content-source login details remain on your device and are not sent to DOT9T servers. A playlist can identify the content source you use. We do not supply the media referenced by your playlist.

Requests for movie or series information through The Movie Database (TMDB) pass through DOT9T servers. The requested title or ID is recorded in our server logs. These records can indicate what information the app requested.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand app use and Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes. These services may process app activity, app and device information, installation identifiers, crash traces and diagnostics. Crashlytics can include the app state at the time of a crash. Google processes this data as a service provider under its own terms. See Firebase privacy and security information and Firebase’s Android data disclosure guide.

Why we use information

We use the data above to provide and secure the player, maintain accounts and sources, retrieve requested TMDB information, troubleshoot failures, respond to support and deletion requests, and understand how the app performs. DOT9T Player does not display ads. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Who receives information

Our hosting providers process information needed to run DOT9T servers and the website. Google processes Analytics and Crashlytics data. TMDB receives requests needed to return movie or series details; when we make those requests through our servers, TMDB receives information in the request, including the requested title or ID and our server’s network address. Your chosen content source or EPG provider may receive information when the app connects to it and is governed by that provider’s own practices. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Website and support information

The website’s hosting and security systems may process an IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times. WordPress may use cookies needed for site operation and administrator login. If you email us, we use your name, email address and message to handle the request. Do not include a password, activation code or playlist URL in a support email.

How long information is kept

• DOT9T server logs, including IP address, device information and logged TMDB title or ID: automatically deleted after 30 days.
• DOT9T account name and email: kept while the account is active. On deletion, the account is disabled immediately; name and email may be kept for security and abuse prevention for up to 30 more days, then deleted.
• Data stored on your device: remains until you remove it in the app, clear the app’s data in Android settings or uninstall the app.
• Firebase: separate Google retention controls apply. Firebase says Crashlytics crash traces and related identifiers are kept for 90 days before removal begins. Google Analytics user and event data is subject to the property’s retention settings, which can be two or 14 months for standard properties; standard aggregated reports are not affected by that setting. The DOT9T 30-day periods above do not apply to Firebase.

Your choices and rights

You can delete a DOT9T account through the in-app account deletion control or by emailing [email protected]. You can request access, correction or deletion of information we can identify, and you may have additional rights under the law where you live. We may verify your identity before acting. See our Data Deletion Request page for steps. You can remove device data by clearing DOT9T Player’s app data in Android settings. Deletion of Google-held data follows Google’s applicable controls and retention processes.

International use and security

DOT9T Player is available globally. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and encrypted connections where supported. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can review and remove information we control.
